About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish The backplate of this sconce is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is applied to the genuine stone surface as an intentional design choice. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath the coating. Which size should I choose? Three heights: 11.8″ for a compact accent, 25.9″ for a standard statement, and 37.4″ for a tall, architectural installation. All share the same 1.8″ bar diameter and opal globe. How is the lamp controlled? Via a pull chain on the fixture, and also compatible with a standard wall switch connected to the electrical supply.
